Is Thompson Yanking Favre?

Favre told si.com that Packers general manager Ted Thompson had asked him for “a couple of days” to resolve the situation.
“I agreed to do that,” Favre told the site. “I don’t want to be a distraction to the Packers, and I hope in the next few days we can come to an agreement that would allow me to continue playing football.”
The longer this goes on, the less valuable Favre becomes. If he plays somewhere other than Green Bay, he'll have to learn a whole new system, and teams don't like to change their leader once things get started or have a quarterback controversy. On the other hand, if they are taking Favre back, maybe they are hoping Rodgers will make it easier for them - have a bad start to training camp, say something stupid, or tweak one of his past injuries.
